Transforming discards into wearable art

sustainable practice, craftsmanship, and artistry in fiber

I’m a Virginia based fiber artist specializing in making new textiles from discards, gently used, and deadstock materials for the accessories I create. This intentional approach results in limited quantities and one of a kind accessories, and challenges me to design from the unique palette that is found at the time. My creative process blends felting, quilting, embroidery, and other techniques to transform these items into new textiles for my pieces. I focus predominantly on knit materials and natural fibers, mostly wool and cashmere sweaters, due to their versatility and the dynamic ways they respond to various manipulation techniques. These restraints drive my creative process and reflect my value of sustainable creation. Coupled with a long history of experimentation and mastery in fiber manipulation and clothing/accessory construction results in accessories that are one of a kind, well-made, functional art.
